Why Colouring Books?
I loved colouring as a child – and I still do!! There, I’ve said it!! It used to be a guilty pleasure – something to enjoy in private, not to be shared with anyone outside your closest circle. Now, however, adult colouring is big business. Books are available on every topic. Millions of people regularly indulge. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. If you enjoy colouring, no matter how old you are, be proud – shout it from the rooftops!
Not only is colouring fun, it is well documented that, for many people (adults and children alike), it is a therapeutic, stress-relieving pastime. Countless scientifically-backed articles have been written about the advantages of colouring and its positive effects on mental health.

How I Create My Travel-Inspired Colouring Books
Like most people who are looking for adult colouring books, I started with mandala pages – you know, books full of lovely patterns (like the one below) which allow you to let your imagination run free and create beautiful bright pictures.
Whilst I enjoyed doing these, I was always looking for more interesting images to colour. Imagine my delight, then, when I found a way to turn the photos we take when we’re travelling into colouring pages!
This opened up endless possibilities!
At first, I just created pages for myself. However, when people saw me doing them (on long flights, usually!), the response was invariably positive and they usually wanted to know where they could get them.
So, I learned how to package my pages into books and market them through Amazon. I now have a range of travel-inspired colouring books with lots more titles to come!
How to Use my Colouring Pages
Grab your favourite pens or pencils and let your imagination and creativity run riot. I use high-quality fine-tip felt pens for the details, and coloured pencils for the larger areas, but the choice is yours. Some people like to put a watercolour wash across the whole picture before they begin. It’s your creation. It’s up to you!
Cut out your finished work and display it somewhere as in inspiration to travel further for longer, or as a reminder of places you’ve already been to.
